Report a problem

If a tool gave you a wrong answer, a page looks broken, or something you read here does not add up, please tell us. Four things make a report fixable:

• Which tool — its name or the page address.
• What you put in — paste the input if you can (cross out anything private first; an input we cannot see is an input we cannot test).
• What you expected to happen.
• What actually happened — the result you got, or the error you saw, exactly as it appeared.

A wrong result is the most valuable report we can get: every one is checked against the tool, and the fix ships to everyone.

What else to write about

• Tool requests — the toolbox grows by request. If a formatter, converter or inspector would save you time every week, say so.
• Corrections — if a guide gets a detail wrong, we want to fix it.

One thing we cannot do: recover your tool input. Because everything runs locally in your browser, we never receive it — if a tab closes, the input is gone for good. For anything long, keep your own copy.

We read everything and reply to most messages within a few days.
